Succeeding online involves the collaborative effort of multiple departments within a nonprofit organization. Since 2007 this blog has focused on Bridging Technology, Communications & Development to Implement ePhilanthropy for Nonprofit Organizations.

Norman Reiss currently works as Project Manager, Technology at the Center for Court Innovation, where he oversees the planning, development, implementation and support of new and existing court technology at multiple demonstration projects throughout NYC. Previously, Norman managed online systems at Jewish Funds for Justice (now Bend the Arc), completing an integration of Convio’s Online Marketing and Common Ground platforms, and project managing the development of a Drupal based online registration system. Norm has also consulted for Cathexis Partners, Common Knowledge and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.

As Manager, Online Services at the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Norman raised over $15 million in online revenues through rollout of special events, online donations/memberships, registrations, memorial / tributes and ecommerce initiatives, Previously, he implemented an online educational program at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and directed technology and online strategies at Cross-Cultural Solutions, an organization promoting international volunteerism.

Active in the nonprofit sector since 2000, Norman has led or participated in conference panels / webinars on content management / constituent relationship systems, ePhilanthropy strategies, and project management for nonprofits.

In March 2012, he presented Why Your Nonprofit Needs a Mobile Website. In November 2011, he co-presented How the NYPL Successfully Project Managed a New Drupal Website.

Core specialties include: technology project Management, online communications / fundraising / marketing and training / presentations.

In addition, Norman often acts in a liaison role between stakeholders and consultants / developers / vendors in online software implementations or website redesigns. He also focuses on providing customer service and support, especially for organizations with non-technical staff located in multiple offices / locations, and on website usability.

Norman is also active in professional organizations such as Nten, Project Management Institute and the Not-for-Profit Webmaster Roundtable.
